Delete your entire account
You can permanently delete your Aura account and all associated data in either of these ways:
- In the app (fastest — takes effect immediately).
Open Aura and tap your avatar at the top of the Home screen to
open your Profile. Near the bottom, tap
Privacy & account to open that section if
it is closed. Then tap Delete Account and
confirm. Your account and data are removed from our active
systems right away.
- By email. If you can no longer open the app, email
[email protected] from the
email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We verify the
request and complete the deletion within 30 days
(usually much sooner).
What gets deleted
- Your profile — email, display name, date of birth, and preferences
- All chat and voice conversation history, including transcripts
- Your voice calls — the recording of your side of every call,
the call’s transcripts (including the word-by-word transcript),
the measurements of how you spoke, and your voice notes, including
the read of how you came across. Your “Your voice” page
is emptied too.
- Everything Aura remembered about you — memories, reflections, and life events
- Any photos you shared and any details derived from them
- Your reminders, goals, chosen mentors, and app settings
This deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
What may be kept, and for how long
- Encrypted backups: deleted data is removed from our
active databases immediately and aged out of encrypted backups
within 30 days.
- Legally required records: transaction and subscription
records may be retained by our payment processors and by the app
stores (Apple, Google) as required by tax and accounting law. These
records do not include your conversations, reflections,
or anything Aura remembered about you.
- Anonymized usage counts (e.g., total message counts,
never including content) may be retained for product improvement.
Delete specific data (without deleting your account)
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove specific things. At any time you can:
- Delete individual conversations. Open your
History, choose a conversation, and delete it. It
leaves your History right away and waits in
Recently deleted for 30 days, where you can restore
it. After 30 days it is deleted for good, and removed from our
backups within 30 days after that. What Aura has learned about you
from it stays; you can remove that in your Memory tab (below).
- Delete a voice call. A voice call is part of its
conversation in your History, so you delete it by deleting that
conversation. The call leaves your “Your voice” page
right away. While the conversation can still be restored, nothing
of the call is deleted. When the conversation is deleted for good,
30 days later, the recording of your side of the call, the
call’s transcripts (including the word-by-word transcript),
the measurements of how you spoke, and the voice notes, including
the read of how you came across, are deleted with it. Voice notes
already written for your other calls stay as they are, even where
they compare those calls with the deleted one. We keep a basic
record that the call happened — when it started, how long it
lasted, and a few technical details, with no audio and no
words — until you delete your account.
- Delete individual memories or life events. In your
Memory tab, remove any item. Deleted memories sit in a
30-day trash so you can restore one removed by mistake, then are
purged permanently.
- Prefer email? Write to
[email protected] describing
what you'd like removed, and we'll take care of it within 30 days.
